Interactive Design
Here is a study of different digital cover designs. These were designed for an architectural pursuit for a client who is an industry leader in genomics and related technologies. Thorough research is imperative for a wholistic and successful design. The following studies showcase an understanding of the client’s brand utilizing its aesthetics and interactive elements.
Concept 1
This client specialized in revolutionary genomics and the creation of the technology used to advance the science. The broken-up stair graphic is representative of the DNA double helix as well as the grand stair that was proposed in the EBC, executive briefing center. There is a roll over effect on each of the grey stairs to highlight the yellows and light from their brand.
Concept 2
This concept was a play on gene slicing. The background is a simplified graphic representation of the structure of DNA and where one gene starts and the next one ends. As the background was simple enough, there was a chance to play up the typography. This concept offered a similar idea of gene slicing with the addition of interactive roll over effect to bring in the aesthetics of the client’s brand.
Concept 3
This concept was chosen as the final design. As the specific project name itself suggestions, Project Rubicon was named after Julius Caesar’s famous travels around the Rubicon River. Essentially, they wanted to capture the essence of Caesar’s travels in a keep-forward-progress way. The graphic flow of arrows suggests forward progress while bringing in the aesthetics of their brand for a cohesive design.
